Who are Bugaboo?
- by admin
The brains behind Bugaboo prams is Max Barenbrug – a man whose pushchair designs were considered to radical for existing manufacturers back in the 90s!
The Dutch-based company has a very strong ethos, based on innovative and minimalist design – but always keeping practicality, functionality and comfort foremost in mind.
Max Barenbrug
Awarded by the Design Academy Eindhoven in 1994 for his innovative designs, Barenbrug found that his pushchair ideas were rejected by the big manufacturers – but, undeterred, Barenbrug teamed up with, Eduard Zanen in 1996, to design and manufacter a pram that would be both aesthetically pleasing and perfectly designed to provide a smooth, safe and comfortable ride for baby.
Launched in 1999, the first Bugaboo pram was fresh and original and made a big impact on the market. The combination of practical and modern design and bold and funky fabrics won over an army of fans.
The initial design was followed two years later by the Bugaboo Frog, which served to increase the popularity of the brand – and a cameo on Sex in the City, triggered even greater interest in the brand.
Since then several more designs and products have been added to the brand – all with the same focus on marrying functional design with style. Bugaboo products are sold world-wide and have proven equally popular with parents across the globe.
The Bugaboo Lifestyle
A young and dynamic company, the Bugaboo ethos embraces the modern parenting ideal of many.
The Bugaboo mentality embodies modern living and parenting and they have since launched both a Bugaboo community and Bugaboo Daytrips – a site dedicated to inspiring families to get out and about and explore the world.
Bugaboo prams are about more than just a travel solution. Choosing Bugaboo is a lifestyle choice – and they want to encourage everyone to put their simple, yet practical designs to the test – take your buggy on the road and get out there, enjoying life with your new baby.
